PROJECT WHIRLWIND DESIGN
Project Whirlwind was an internal project developed for Glade to showcase our innovative thinking and capabilities from start to finish. Our strategy team developed consumer design targets for a niche market in the AirCare category. I was the lead designer for product development and provided the team with sketches for multiple concepts. The concepts that focused on portability rose to the top among our team and refinements came next.
STRATEGY
During this phase, I was tasked with further development of the functionality and design of the Glade portable air purifier. I created multiple sketches that maximized the portability aspect and offer a range of ways to insert the cartridges. As a team, we used colored dots to select our favorite designs. I then created 3D models to refine the shapes which led to the final product.
REFINEMENT
In this last phase, I created 3D models for all the parts and pieces and had to provide a package that held everything. Our team developed a product name that focused on personal and portability. The Glade AirMe was created, featuring a wristband and multiple scented air filters to choose from.
